What may be the best thing about this Saturday’s super-party? Every DJ, promoter, performer and cameo guest—and there are many—is donating their services in an effort to maximize monies raised for the William Way LGBT Community Center.

They’re calling it IndiGoGo, and it’s billed as “Philly’s Fiercest Funhouse & Dance Extravaganza”—so things will undoubtedly get a little weird. Yes.

The 12,000 square foot Underground Arts space is the host site, and the party’ll go extra late–we’re talking ’til 3:30 a.m. late. Four rooms will house 12 deejays, aerialists, pole dancers, black light performances, body painting and drag stations, male and female go-go dancers, plus guest appearances by “some of Philly’s most notable nightlife personalities.” I’m not even really sure who that might be, but hey, whatever brings the kids in.

Check out the list of actual hosts: Stimulus Productions, NSFW Dance Party, DJ Carl Michaels, Josh Schonewolf Presents, Mondo Trasho, PhillyGayCalendar, The Sleepover Party, Pulse Events, DJ Niilo, The Welcoming Committee, and apparently there are even more. Man, that’s a bunch of people pitching in, all for a great cause. The dance-floor-friendly jam promises to feature a mix of music, with the dozens of DJs spinning House, top 40, Garage, Latin, hip-hop and new wave.

In the event’s press release, William Way development director Michael Pomante is quoted as saying: “There will be sounds, sips and sexy scenery for everyone at IndiGoGo, and I can’t wait to experience the spectacular dance adventure that these very creative and kindhearted people have conceived.”

Oh, the kicker (or spanker)? Colby Keller. Gays like me know exactly what he’s all about: the hot, bearded and free-spirited porn star’s also a sex educator, blogger, writer and an artist. He’s a Thinking Man’s Adult Entertainer (I just made that up), and he’ll be on hand to stamp a five-fingered star onto anyone willing to pony up a little cash at the “Colby Keller Spanking Booth.”

“This event is near and dear to my heart,” says Amber Hikes, co-founder of Stimulus Philly. “So often there’s a certain level of friendly competition amongst the queer promoters in the city, but for one night, we’re all putting our egos aside to entertain the entire community and raise money for a very, very good cause. Giving people a great night and a memorable experience all while giving back to the local queer community – it’s a win, win!”

FYI: William Way provides life-saving and life-affirming services to more than 60,000 LGBTQ individuals and allies every year. Programs offered by the center include free peer counseling, senior programs, an art gallery, one of the largest LGBT arches in the western hemisphere, a public cyber center, hiking and tour groups, and other recreational, health, educational, arts and cultural opportunities.

Sat., July 26, 10pm. $10-$20. Underground Arts, 1200 Callowhill St. undergroundarts.org and WayGay.org.
